Hairdryer

I knew this day would come eventually, even though I hoped it never would. But that was just being unrealistic. lol. My very 1st hairdryer that I received as a present when I was a kid just went kaput. And literally, I was a kid when I got it, probably not even a teenager! It's a miracle its lasted this long! Who knows if they even MAKE this brand anymore! haha. I was just blowdrying my hair, of course, and it turned off, I heard a pop and a flash, then I noticed the burnt spot on the plug. Dangerous! I had to document this momentous occasion because as many hairdryers that are out there, a Hello Kitty one included, that probably worked way better than mine, this is more proof that I keep things forever. HAHA.

Goodbye ancient hairdryer, hello new colorful one!

Frosty Update

Update update! It snowed! Definitely didn't go into work today. Watched the news at 7ish this morning, and although they showed very few cars on the road, the ones that were out were slipping and sliding all over the place! Scary! The interstate was covered, and the roads I would have taken to the interstate were closed anyways! I think they said at one point 911 had received over 100 calls in 15 minutes! Crazy! Tonight the news said that there were over 400 car accidents today! YIKES! It finally started melting around noon I think, and the main roads that had direct exposure to the sun were pretty clear. The side roads that were more in shade and had leftover snow are going to refreeze tonight though! Its dipping back into the teens! BOOO. Ok, so can't it be summer already?! I'm soooo ready to sweat by the pool! Plus, my pale skin is starting to blend in with the snow! Kthxbye!

Frosty Weather

So the weather was an AMAZING 70 ish degrees all of last weekend. So gorgeous, I went downtown for my friend Rosa's birthday in a skirt and tank! Fantastic! This week however, its been in the 20s everyday! YUCK!! So cold! I hate the cold weather! It is supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow morning, so I will admit, I'm pretty excited about that! I will definitely snap some pics if it happens, and of course I will share!

So I found this blog thru a friend (thanks Allie!) that has the CUTEST cupcake recipes EVER! It's called 'Bake It in a Cake'. I'm totally gonna try my hand at one of them for Valentine's Day, even though I do hate the holiday. Still, I love cupcakes, my friends love cupcakes, why not make some cute ones for everyone! So much better then those cheap Valentines chocolates you find in the grocery store. Check out the blog here! Now hopefully I don't butcher these things and get totally aggravated and never try again! LOL

Last quick note. I hate that money has to rule everything and being alone is starting to get lonely, and really suck.

Hello New Year!

Sooo my Christmas trip to my home state of Florida was fantastical! I had an AMAZING time with the family and even got to spend some time with the BFF Kel and see her minis! They're growing up WAY too fast! Went to Walt Disney world with the sisters and cousin the day after Christmas, and, as always, it was magical! On top of FREEZING! Yay for being stubborn and only wearing a faux fur lined hoodie! lol. We finished my last day with a trip to Applebees for Bridget's birthday the night before I left. Gotta "Lose Yourself" before you go back home, right?! lol. (I rapped some Eminem for B if you were wondering haha). I miss my family tons! <3 <3 <3

New years was chill and fun. Went to Whit's bfs house and had a bonfire and fireworks. Good times!
And speaking of new years. Another year, another resolution. This one I'm being pretty good at sticking by so far. Losing weight and toning up! All I've been eating since new years is salads and veggies (ok, so maybe I had a LITTLE bit of pizza one night!) and I think I am actually seeing results already. Had a good jumpstart and now its time to get serious, getting my butt to the gym! I picked up my membership card today, so I have no excuse! I want to see and feel an extremely noticeable difference by April, the summer kickoff month! Will def keep you guys updated! I guess some people would post progress pics, but I'm not extremely comfortable posting half nekked pics of myself online, UNTIL I am super muscular! HAHA!

Christmas time!!

Well, it's that time again! It's been a good holiday season so far!

Thanksgiving with the guys was great and we made some DELISH food! I went crazy decorating the house this year, had a work Christmas party then a Christmas party at my house, exchanged gifts with the guys and tomorrow I leave for Florida, my sunshiney home state! YAY! I'm so excited to see my family and friends and can't wait to cram in as much stuff as possible in the 6 days that I will be there, Disney World and karaoke included! lol. I think I can truly say that this has been a REALLY good year! Made lots of new friends, had new experiences, started a good job and have had about 4 different hair colors this year! HAHA!

I hope this finds everyone having an amazing holiday season and I wish everyone love and happiness thru the entire new year!

Another year older...

So another year flew by which means I'm another year older... 26!!! Already?! Has it REALLY already been 5 years since I turned 21? Totally insane.

Other then the whole age thing (I mean seriously, nobody likes getting older after 21!), this past year has been pretty darn good. Got a job that is FINALLY good, yay for being a permanent employee finally! I've made some AMAZING friends this year from people that other friends knew to some AWESOME girls that I work with. Dated a guy for a couple months which made me realize that right now I don't need a man in my life, but I know that somewhere inside of me, I still have the ability to get a little mushy and fall for someone eventually. lol.

My birthday was great. Celebrated at the Highball again, did a little karaoke and lots of dancing to a 70s cover band. They were AWESOME! I'm SUPER excited about the holidays coming. Had a huge Thanksgiving feast at work today, and only working half a week next week! On the down side, this will be my 1st Thanksgiving that I'm not spending with my family... Sad! =( BUT, on the upside I am doing a Thanksgiving thing with the guys AND making my 1st Sweet Potato Pie! YUM! I'm excited!

Thats all I have right now! Watching Smallville and putting up the Christmas tree this weekend, so I'll post something Christmasy next month before I head to Florida for Christmas! YAY!

Fantastic Fest 2010

So my second Fantastic Fest experience has come and gone. Even though I've only gone to two of them, I find myself nostalgic at the end of them already, like I have been going for years and years. I think I have to say that it is seriously THE best week of the year here in Austin, TX. I get to be one of the few that volunteer and meeting other volunteers, attendees, and all of the actual filmmakers is such an awesome experience. I've made new friends both years, and am looking forward to next year already!
I gotta give a special shout-out to some of the filmmakers and actors I met this year for putting up with my "stalking." My volunteer job this year was to make sure the filmmakers I was handling got into the movie and back for the Q&A on time, so I had to pretty much be with them at all times during a 2-3 hour time span. And then sometimes they'd still want to hang after their movie was over! I gotta say all of them were absolutely amazing and I hope that I made their experience as fantastic as they made mine!
